IP29K

It is an IEC 60529 ingress protection code combining first-digit (solid) level 2 with second-digit (liquid) level 9K.

What IP29K means
The IP code IP29K is part of the IEC 60529 standard for ingress protection. The first characteristic numeral, 2, indicates the level of protection against solid objects and access to hazardous parts. The second numeral, 9K, indicates the level of protection against the ingress of water. Together, these digits describe exactly what an enclosure rated IP29K can withstand.
For solid protection, the digit 2 means the enclosure is > 12.5 mm — finger. Protected against access to hazardous parts with a finger. Protected against solid foreign objects of 12.5 mm diameter and greater. The test method is jointed test finger (12 mm diameter, 80 mm length) shall not penetrate with adequate clearance.
For liquid protection, the digit 9K means the enclosure resists high-pressure, high-temp water jets. Protection against high-pressure and high-temperature water jets. Water projected in powerful jets against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects. Often designated IPx9K. The test procedure is fan-shaped 80° nozzle at 14–16 l/min, 8–10 mpa pressure, water temperature 80 °c; enclosure on turntable hit at 0°, 30°, 60°, 90° for 30 seconds each.
IP29K is a valid IEC 60529 combination. When specifying IP29K for a project, confirm the rating certificate from the manufacturer and consider that seals degrade over time with temperature cycling, UV exposure, and chemical contact.
